An Investigation on the Optical and Photoelectrical Properties of TlGaX2 (X = S, Se) Ternary Compounds

Abstract. Absorption and photoconductivity spectra of thin TlGaX2 (X = S, Se) layers are used to study the fundamental and other transitions of the compounds in the energy region 1.0–3.8 eV and in the temperature range of 10–300 K. One of the peaks resolved by photoconductivity measurements corresponds to the excitonic peak registered in the absorption spectrum of the compounds. In TlGaS2 most of the photoconductivity peaks are related to transitions from localized levels in conduction band.
