Surface Modification of Steel by Irradiation with a High-Current Nanosecond Electron Beam

Abstract. The modification in the surface layer of steel with different carbon contents (0.14-1%) is studied after irradiation with an electric beam having 250-300 keV electron energy, 8-12 kA/cm2 current density and 15×10-9 s pulse duration.
