Gravitational Microlensing and the Dark Matter in Our Galaxy

Abstract. In this work I try to give an overall view of the interesting use of the gravitational microlensing for the detection of the dark matter in our Galaxy. I give also the model for the calculation of the two main characteristic parameters, optical depth and microlensing rate.
