Abstract. Newton claimed in his book "Optics", published 1704, that "each body emits and absorbs light"' and "the transmutation of the bodies into light and vice versa is a natural process of Nature". In accordance with these statements, it can be logically concluded that the light and the matter have one and the same nature. As the light has been already proved to be an electromagnetic phenomenon, it follows that the matter has the same electromagnetic nature, i.e. it is electromagnetic matter. In general, following this way of reasoning, it can be said that the matter and all its properties and manifestations in the world have electromagnetic nature. The presented explanation of the matter as having electromagnetic nature helps to understand the entity of the world.
