Abstract. Data from gamma-spectrometry analyses of soils from the "Kozlodouy" NPP region is presented in the paper. The region of investigation is situated 30 km around the NPP including the sanitary protected zone. The samples are collected during an expedition performed in 1999. The results are compared with data from former investigations of samples from the region. A picture of the radioactive contamination of the soils in the region is developed after generalization and analysis of the data received. Some results about the content of Pu and Sr isotopes in samples from the region are discussed. Fields with higher radioactivity, requiring special attention are pointed out.
