The Large Gyromagnetic Effect on Post Production Treated Amorphous Wires

Abstract. A gyromagnetic effect was investigated on an amorphous wire with a nominal composition Fe77.5Si7.5B15 (AF10) with positive magnetostriction. An experimental work was carried out on 13 cm long as-cast sample as well as on furnace annealed in air with and without axial tension, current annealed and transverse field annealed samples. The large gyromagnetic effect (LGE) was particularly observed in the as-cast sample. It was less effective on the annealed samples. The highest induced voltage was detected in the furnace annealed sample whereas the lowest was in the transverse annealed sample. The domains in outer shell were mainly found to be responsible for the LGE while the domains in the inner core were effective for high induced voltage.
