Abstract. In this study, a method for the calculations of mass energy coefficients is given by taking care of the interactions of gamma rays with materials and energy conversion as a result of these interactions. By using this method, the mass energy absorption coefficients and the mass radiation absorption coefficients values are obtained in aluminium and water mediums for the gamma rays with incident energy range 0.4 MeV < E < 10 MeV and compared with the values given in previous works.
