Abstract. In the study, firstly the energy distributions of beta particles are separated in to abundant group energy regions, and the beta particles in each group are accepted monoenergetic. And then absorber and detector depleted layer width are separated into certain thickness regions, and an analytical interpretation is done for obtaining the energy distribution of beta particles in each group penetrated through the absorber and the energy distribution in the detector of beta particles which have this energy. By with this interpretation, the theoretical response functions of beta particles emitted from Sr-90/Y-90 radioisotopes are obtained. The obtained response functions are compared with experimental response functions obtained with surface barrier solids state detector having depletion layer 1000 μm, active area 50 mm2.
