Alpha-particle Momentum Distributions in Nuclei and (α, 2α) Reactions on 12C and 16O

Abstract. The cross sections of (α, 2α) reaction on 12C and 16O are calculated using the alpha-panicle momentum distributions (AMD) obtained in the coherent density fluctuation model (CDFM). The calculations in the plane-wave impulse approximation (PWIA) are in good agreement with the experimental data. It is pointed out that the present study is a good test of the AMD and its applications to calculate the cluster knockout reaction cross sections.
