Analytical Approximation of the Dose Distribution from Point Beta-Sources

Abstract. An analytical approximation of the dose distribution from point beta-sources has been proposed and compared with the "classical" Loevinger theory and recent Monte-Carlo calculations. The agreement between the proposed approach and Monte-Carlo simulations is very good. The advantage of the method is that (i) it is an analytical one, and (ii) it can be applied to distorted beta-spectra or experimentally recorded beta-spectra.
