The Beam-Plasma Pumping of a Three-Level Laser System

Abstract. The conceptual possibility for beam-plasma oscillations pumping of a laser active medium is studied numerically. The numerical results show a possibility for population inverting of the laser transition and selective enhancing of the useful transverse oscillations in a "beam+plasma+3-level medium" system. The practical realization of this idea allows to solve the problems of improving the beam-plasma device radiation quality and extraction of energy out of the device.
