Abstract. The internal bremastrahlung (I.B.) spectrum associated with the first forbidden β-transition of 198Au is measured using a single-channel NaI(Tl) scintillation spectrometer. The experimental results for the I.B. Probabilities are compared with the current KUB, Lewis and Ford, Nilsson, and Ford and Martin theories in the energy range from 550 keV to 1075 keV. Also a comparison with those calculated according to Nilsson theory after applying the shape correction factor was made. The latter comparison showed a good agreement all over the range of the investigated energy.
