Surface Barrier Detectors of n-Type Silicon with Reduced Surface Currents

Abstract. The decrease in the reverse current of n-Si surface barrier detectors due to the drop of surface leakage current when using a Bulgarian unsaturated polyester resin is discussed in this paper. The reverse current decreases down to several tenths of nanoamperes for 30 mm2 detector area and 13.4 keV resolution for alpha particles of 5.486 MeV (241Am) energy.
