Examination of Different Nonlinear Algorithms for X-Ray Processing with Personal Computers

Abstract. The applicability of different nonlinear least square methods (gradient Fletcher-Reeves, Davidson-Fletcher-Powell. Marquardt, Hooke-Jeeves) for X-ray spectra processing was tested. Convergence and calculation efficiency of the different algorithms and their reproducibility in real X-ray spectra processing were evaluated. The results from standard tests with different programs were compared with the results of the KATOK code.
