Ferromagnetic Filled Carbon Nanotubes for Biomedical Applications

Abstract. Fe-filled carbon nanotubes are new nanoscaled materials with unique magnetic properties. This properties allow applications of this materials in different fields, for instance as cantilever tips in the magnetic force microscopy or as nanocontainer for biomedical applications (hyperthermia). This paper is focused on the synthesis of such materials, the description of their structural and magnetic properties, and first results of their applications in the biomedicine.
