Ion Beam Therapy Simulation by OK2

Abstract. For computer simulations on heavy ion beam irradiation onto a target with an arbitrary shape and structure in heavy ion fusion the code OK2 was developed and presented in Computer Physics Communications, Vol. 161 (2004). The code is flexible and universal, and can find many other useful applications. One example of medical application of OK2 for simulation of energy deposition in human body in ion beam tumor treatment is presented in this work.
